Kwasu Exemption Fee

The final year and new intake student of the Kwara State University, Malete, laments over the increment of hostel exemption fee. The fee which was said to be previously #5,000 has now been increased to #20,000 making it difficult for students who wants to exempt from staying in the school hostel due to medical or personal reasons best known to them.

According to the Student Union President, Comrade Lawal Azeez Okikiola meetings are ongoing with the school management concerning the increase of the exemption fee.

He added that, some student had already began payments for the fee, as the school management already made it known to him. "Some student have started paying and reducing it will be injustice to those that have paid."

The president urges the affected students to pay up the fee, advising that examination is fast approaching so that they can do their course registration adding that meetings are still on-going and no conclusion has been reached yet.

He further advised the affected students to remain calm as the union would propose that the fee be reverse back to it previous amount and a refund to students who already paid the #20,000 fee.
